Minutes of the KPARC Meeting of February 1, 2010

The meeting was called to order by Vice President Joe White at 2:00 p.m. in the Main Clubhouse Craft Room. The following officers were present, Vice President Joe White, Secretary Sam Brandes.

The meeting opened with Vice President Joe White welcoming all members and guests and asking each one to introduce them selves.

Reading of Minutes of January 4, 2009 Meeting

A motion was made, seconded and passed to suspend the reading of the minutes since minutes are emailed to all members.

Treasures Report

In the absence of the treasurer the Vice President reported a balance as of January 31,2009 is $8,834.28

Business

Orlando Hamfest

Dick Bishop will have tickets for the February 12,13,14 event. He will contact all who have

ordered tickets.

Tempo Digital Soldering Iron

The recently purchased soldering iron was sent back to the factory to repair a defective heating

element.

Announcements

• The QCWA meeting held on January 13^th held its election of officers. Bob Hibbard, N1ZK was elected president for 2010. The next meeting will be held on February 19^th.
• Tom Cooney, KE9LN accepted the appointment of Member-at-large on the KPARC Board of Directors replacing Joe Sturniolo who has retired after 5 years on the board.
• Mike Burks, KG4TGP has accepted the appointment as KPARC Program Chairman for 2010
• Alan Blackwell, K9YI has accepted the appointment as KPARC Weather Specialist for 2010.

Correspondence, Notices, Reports and Activities

• The club room monitor program is working very well. There is a need to fill a slot for Wednesdays.
• Anyone interested in taking the Wednesday slot should call Bev Wilson, KI4TYZ at 633-9959.

Members are asked to participate in the Tuesday afternoon club room work day. Projects are listed on whte board in the club room next to the HF station.

• The amateur radio TV antenna has been pulled into the club room. The next step is to drill access holes into the cabinet.
• The next Fox Hunt will take place at 4:00 p.m. on February 4^th.
• Ladies Lunch will take place in the Florida Room in Sun City Center. Contact Rita Hale or Annette Friolet for reservations and information.

Program

Mike Burks introduced KPARC member Bill Miller, N1CDO who gave an excellent presentation and

demonstration emergency communications and the kinds of equipment needed.

The meeting adjourned at 3:30 p.m.
