Minutes of the August 2, 2010 Monthly KPARC Meeting

The meeting was called to order by the president at 2:05 p.m. in the Main Clubhouse Craft Room. The following officers were present: President Dick Bishop, Vice President Joe White, Secretary Sam Brandes and Treasurer Bill Love.

The president welcomed all members and guest and asked that they introduce themselves by name and call sign.

Minutes of the July 5, 2010 meeting

The minutes of our last meeting are posted on the KPARC webpage. Are there any errors, omissions or corrections in the minutes as posted? Hearing none the minutes are approved.

Treasurers Report

The current balances are as follows: $5,200.00

Old Business

Emergency Plan

Plan needs constant updating. Suggest members go to Bill Barron’s website to review the overall plan for SCC and the county.

Equipment Inventory

Joe White continues updating the inventory and setting value for insurance purposes.

New Business

Internet Technology

Bill Love will head our IT committee with Bill Miller and Mike Burks as co chairs. Other volunteers are invited. The committee will determine and recommend software packages, security measures, and operating practices to support KPARC’s IT needs.  Administrative functions will be secure on all but one club PC.

Streaming Video

Club is reviewing the installation of streaming video for the club room that will permit members to see activities in the club room

Skype

The clubroom computers have the new version of Skype, which allows six video conference calls at the same time.

Program

President Dick Bishop introduced Bill Barron who presented a detailed program on the use of Ham Radio Deluxe.
