Ham radio license mentoring

Ham radio license mentoring – Discover the excitement of ham radio. Amateur Radio offers a unique mix of public service, technology, and experimentation with electronics — all with an emphasis on fun. Some hams use their skills to provide communications during emergencies and disasters when all else fails. Others enjoy talking to people across the country and around the globe, participating in contests, and building experiments

Ham radio license mentoring is open to anyone interested in getting an FCC Ham Radio license. The Kings Point Amateur Radio club is providing an opportunity for anyone to gain the knowledge and get their license. The training and exam preparation is free to all, but there is a $15 charge for taking the licensing exam.

Our Study Resources page provides links, recommended books and an online lecture video series to help you gain the requisite knowledge required to pass the FCC exam. There are 20 videos which are about ½ hour each. You can watch them on your own at your leisure and convenience. We will also provide you with links to sites with practice tests, so you can test your knowledge.

Members are available to schedule one on one mentoring to answer questions and/or administer practice tests to help you prepare for the licensing exam. We have regularly scheduled FCC licensing exams scheduled on the third Saturday of each month at 9 am if you wish to take the exam, you need to register in advance on our website at https://licensing.kparc.org

If you are interested in participating in this Ham radio license training program to significantly improve your study experience, please fill out the licensing interest survey below, so we can put you on the list. Someone will contact you to determine the next step.
